The Custom House King’s Lynn is one of my favourite buildings and I have painted it several times. Last summer I was commissioned to paint it again. I have drawings and photographic reference collected over the years that I was able to use which saved me going there this time. Most commissions involve at least one trip to see the subject and explore the possibilities. This is the finished watercolour painting. Delighted to see this view, and others of King’s Lynn, featured in the excellent film ‘The Personal History of David Copperfeld’.
